Next Multiplayer Fly In

The next leg will be from Pamplona to any UK airport of your choice before we head for Norway and Sweden and off to Rovaneimi for Christmas. Departure time from Pamplona is 1500 BST.  There will be no ATC for this flight other than tower on departure. Your route is your choice. This will be on the Sunday 28th Sept.

As the Teamspeak procedure worked well  we have adopted these procedures below.

Teamspeak Procedure

We have had to modify the teamspeak procedure for the next flight as we had a lot more pilots flying. prior to the flight chit chat is not permitted on the ATC channel . Go to the chit chat channel after checking in with ATC on the ATC Channel. When the fly in starts all switch to the ATC channel an announcement will be made on the chit chat channel. to go to ATC channel.

When the fly in starts the only speech permitted will be ATC instructions  the ATC controller  on the ATC channel.  Once everyone is airborne the controlling  ATC control will say relax ATC and then you can talk freely again on the atc channel. Once we start getting aircraft in the approach sequence the ATC controller will call Radio Silence from then on only ATC instructions and acknowledgements will be allowed. Once you have landed you can go onto the chit chat channel to talk after parking.

Pilots have  to read back ATC instructions so they are understood.  ATC instructions must be obeyed.

Problems occurred at the last fly in as ATC instructions were given and could not be acknowledged  as others just continued to chat.

ATC could not also  get instructions to some pilots because of the chatting on the last fly in.

The results below were one pilot failed to slow down almost colliding with another aircraft. One pilot failed to intercept the localiser and causing the whole traffic pattern to have to be reset. One pilot failed to hold he did not get the hold instructions. No blame is intended it is just to show why we have adopted this procedure. its to make things run smoother. We are all learning with this. If a pilot fails to acknowledge an ATC instruction the controller has to repeat it causing more air time being wasted on the frequency. Pilot requests are permitted.  We have got radar now using fs navigator. As you can see it got a bit hectic. I was also trying to fly as well as control it was stressful to say the least at times when Murphy's law kicked in

It is important for those flying with glass cockpit airliners to learn how to get the hold programmed and how to enter it. Please read your manual and learn this. There is no short cut.  For those that use default aircraft  you can use the Vor to fly the hold.
